Gale weather, diesel generator protection skills

In late spring and early summer, the wind became stronger, and even a gale warning of level 9 appeared in Yangzhou.

Five effects of windy weather

Blocked ventilation and heat dissipation

Dust and debris brought by strong winds may block the radiator or air filter, causing the unit temperature to rise too fast.

The intake/exhaust air is poor

Strong winds will interfere with the normal inlet and exhaust path, especially when the exhaust direction is opposite to the wind direction, it is easy to form a hot air return.

Reduced combustion efficiency

Wind affects the air flow, which may cause the air-fuel ratio imbalance, resulting in increased black smoke and decreased power.

Electrical control system security risks

Humid air or rain can easily lead to moisture and short circuit of electrical components, especially the exposed terminal.

Unit stability decreases

If the wind is uneven on the ground and the unit is not fixed, it may cause shaking, dislocation, and even tipping of the equipment!

How to deal with it?

Install a windproof canopy

It is recommended that you install a protective cover or equipment room when using the equipment outdoors to avoid direct contact with key components by wind, sand, and rain.

Clean the intake and exhaust channels

Check the surface of the air filter element and radiator regularly to keep the ventilation smooth.

Choose a reasonable display direction

Ensure that the exhaust vents are away from the main wind direction to avoid hot air reflux and improve heat dissipation efficiency.

Strengthen electronic control protection

Waterproof joints and sealed boxes are used, and IP54 or higher protection levels are recommended for key components.

Make it stable and earthquake-proof

Fix the unit on a solid ground, and install anti-slip and anti-shock supports if necessary.
